Since 2016, Spacetime Development has managed the Connect Harwell Programme on behalf of Harwell Campus. Connect Harwell consists of networking events, workshops, and signposting for campus organisations. Events and workshops take place every month and have been attended by over 1100 people from both on and off-campus.

Event Administrator
Harwell, Oxfordshire

Responsible to: Sponsorship and Events Manager

Working Hours: 37.5 hours. Working hours to be agreed

Contract: 3 month probation and 1 month notice

Salary: Dependent on experience. 

Holiday: 28 days per annum, plus statutory holidays pro-rata

About Us

Spacetime focuses on supporting high-tech sectors with an emphasis on the space and satellite industry. 

The Role

Reporting to the Sponsorship and Events Manager, the Event Administrator will support the execution of Harwell Campus (www.harwellcampus.com) and Spacetime Development-supported events. The role would suit someone who has an interest within the events field. The role involves supporting the Events and Sponsorship Manager in the planning and execution of events as well as supporting the relationships developed with sponsors. The ideal candidate will be highly organised a “people person,” with a ‘can do’ attitude.

Main Responsibilities and Activities

The successful candidate will, working with the Sponsorship and Events Manager:

  • Provide administrative support across sponsorship, events and related programmes.
  • Support the planning, arrangements and implementation of events and workshops (e.g. Connect Harwell Workshops) 
  • Work with event planning tools to register guests and answer enquiries
  • Attend event delivery days to support arrangements on the day and welcome guests.
  • Support the development of relationships with sponsors.
  • Help to build a professional and trusting relationship with all sponsors
  • Support and help to maintain website content.

  • Good organisational, time-management and planning skills with the ability to multi-task, work under pressure and use own initiative.
  • Ability to exercise effective judgement, discretion, sensitivity, creativity to changing needs and situations.
  • A team player with the ability to work with cross-organisational teams and navigate the political environment.
  • Self-motivated with a high energy level.
  • Committed, hardworking, passionate and a creative thinker.
  • High level oral and written communication skills with a strong attention to detail.  
  • Ability to work on own.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office.
