RASOR: Real-time Accessible Space Operational Reel

Spacetime is developing a new streaming service for space imagery, called RASOR. RASOR will provide amazing live and replays of current imagery from across our Universe. Images, videos and visualisations will be accessible online and in physical locations, including at Schools & Universities, Space Organisations and Space Stores. The imagery will be presented through themed programmes: Launches, Earth, Planets, The Sun, Astronomy, and the International Space Station, with the content being tailored to each RASOR user and enhanced with easy-to-understand titles, captions, and timestamps. For educators, RASOR will include ready-to-go lesson plans, activities and competitions for both STEM and non-STEM subject areas. Read more about RASOR at https://business.esa.int/projects/rasor.

Stephen Ringler
Managing Director
Stephen has over 20 years of experience working in the Space sector as a Pointing Precision Engineer, Programmatic Analyst, and Business Developer. With his training that began at UCLA and his vast experience and network in the Space community, his aim with Spacetime Development is to provide top-notch business development support and engineering services to high-tech companies. Stephen enjoys exploring castles and playing board games, jazz piano and drums. He lives in Reading, UK with his wife and son.
Abigail Richings
Sponsorship & Events Manager
Abi works across a range of projects and events for Spacetime Development, including for the prestigious Harwell Science and Innovation Campus bringing together key stakeholders through an events and sponsorship programme to foster collaborations and working relationships, and for Space Store, Didcot, through bespoke, interactive STEM activities aimed at challenging children’s perceptions and broadening horizons to support the next generation of scientists and engineers.
Helen Neal
Events Coordinator
Helen has over 12 years of events experience ranging from networking lunches to vast scale festivals for Harley-Davidson owners. Helen joined the Spacetime team in February 2019 and is enjoying every moment! The combination of assisting develop the events programme and supporting the facilitation of educational activities at Space Store alongside managing the Connect Harwell Nxt Gen programme keeps her inspired and very busy. In her spare time, Helen juggles her two young children, a spirited bearded collie dog and her husband!
Joshua Baylis
Business Administrator
A Space enthusiast from a young age, Josh holds a Physics and Astronomy degree from Durham. He has since held four years' experience working in stakeholder engagement within a research and innovation environment. Josh now supports Spacetime Development and its clients by ensuring the smooth running of various processes, from organising the Managing Director's schedule to accounting and event planning support.
Lakshya Sethi
Project Engineer
Lakshya works as the Project Engineer and Assistant PM on RASOR, heading into its demonstration phase with ESA. He supports Space Store’s experiences and their space partnership programme. After completing his BEng in Aerospace Engineering, Lakshya successfully applied to Spacetime through the UKSA Spinternship Summer 2019 programme, coming on board full time after the internship!

Akshay Sethi

Akshay is completing his summer internship as a Graphic Design Intern after his first year in BA Architecture at the University of Westminster. He focuses on graphic design for Spacetime and Space Store’s exciting social media campaigns – including promotional videos, flyers, live events, and much more! About Us

Spacetime Development is an independent consultancy whose purpose is to provide value-added services to clients developing event planning, user experience, engineering support, and business development programmes. Spacetime focuses on supporting high-tech sectors with an emphasis on the space and satellite industry.

The Role

Reporting to the Managing Director, the Business Administrator will be responsible for ensuring business operations run smoothly. This will include seamless management of the Managing Director’s emails and schedule. The Managing Director works for multiple clients and hence has multiple email accounts to manage. The role will also include synchronising meetings and communications for different project teams, ensuring that customers are responded to in a timely manner, and setting up shareholder meetings. It will also involve basic bookkeeping, filing and reporting, as well as creating business documentation and copy, such as for websites and recruitment activities. The ideal candidate will be highly organised, responsive and proactive.

Main Responsibilities and Activities

The successful candidate will:

• Manage and respond to emails on behalf of the Managing Director for multiple clients

• Manage and coordinate the Managing Director’s diary, liaising with other business administrators, customers and suppliers through email, telephone and messaging services

• Prioritise the incoming flow of time requests, appointments and reviews for the Managing Director

• Manage and coordinate incoming customer requests for various clients

• Organise schedules across team members and customers for regularly scheduled events

• Keep record of accounts for Spacetime Development and its clients using Xero to ensure the books are kept up to date

• Raise invoices using Xero

• Support grant capture and implementation, including processing the relevant paperwork

• File documents both physically and electronically

• Prepare forms on behalf of the Managing Director for signature

• Manage signature workflow for documents on behalf of the Managing Director

• Coordinate workflow for projects to ensure actions are completed in a timely manner

• Support other Spacetime Development staff and its clients with administrative tasks from time to time

• Support various administrative tasks such as purchasing, timesheets and HR record keeping

• Provide help-desk phone support

About You

• Previous business administration or equivalent experience with a keen focus on enabling senior management to effectively manage their day-to-day schedule and responsibilities

• Good organisational, time management and planning skills with the ability to multi-task, work under pressure and use own initiative

• Ability to exercise effective judgment, discretion, sensitivity and creativity to changing needs and situations

• Aptitude for ensuring smooth operations and customer satisfaction

• Enthusiastic and upbeat team player with the ability to work within a small, close-knit team and with a wide range of clients and customers, as well as independently

• Ability to work with customers in a timely, friendly and professional manner to schedule requests

• Self-motivated with a high energy level

• Committed, hardworking and passionate

• High level of oral and written communication skills with a strong attention to detail - an amazing spelling and grammar aficionado

• Ability to use Microsoft Office Products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) and Google applications such as Sheets, Docs, Slides, Photos, gmail and Drive

• Typing speed greater than 60 words per minute

• A driving licence is preferable, enabling the candidate to drive between worksites and occasionally deliver small packages locally on behalf of the business.

Responsible to: Managing Director, Spacetime Development

Working Hours: 15 - 37.5 hours per week; working hours to be agreed

Contract: 3-month probation and 1-month notice

Salary: £9-£12/hour, depending on experience

Holiday: 28 days per annum, plus statutory holidays (pro-rata based on part-time hours)
