RASOR: Real-time Accessible Space Operational Reel

Spacetime is developing a quasi-real-time space imagery data feed called RASOR. It will include both satellite video and static images and be viewable on-line and in physical locations, including Space Stores, space organisations and schools. The live feed will include ISS external instruments and Sentinel data. The feeds will be restructured to include accessible captions targeted at a wide audience, assisting Space Store’s mission of bringing space to Earth.

Abi works across a range of projects and events for Spacetime Development, including for the prestigious Harwell Science and Innovation Campus bringing together key stakeholders through an events and sponsorship programme to foster collaborations and working relationships, and for Space Store, Didcot, through bespoke, interactive STEM activities aimed at challenging children’s perceptions and broadening horizons to support the next generation of scientists and engineers.

Helen has over 10 years of events experience ranging from networking lunches to vast scale festivals for Harley-Davidson owners. Having joined the Spacetime team almost one year ago, Helen is enjoying every moment! The combination of assisting develop the events programme and supporting the facilitation of educational activities at Space Store alongside managing the Connect Harwell Nxt Gen programme keeps her inspired and very busy. In her spare time, Helen juggles her two young children, a spirited bearded collie dog and her husband!

Lakshya is working with Spacetime for the industrial placement year of his Aerospace Engineering degree. His main role is working as the project engineer on RASOR which is aiming to be an accessible platform for real-time space data.

The Role

Reporting to the Managing Director, the Business Administrator Apprentice

will be responsible for the seamless management of the Managing Director’s

emails and schedule. The Managing Director works for multiple clients and

hence has multiple email accounts to manage. The role involves basic

bookkeeping, filing, and reporting. The ideal candidate will be a highly

organised, responsive, and pro-active.

Main Responsibilities and Activities

The successful candidate will:

• Manage, respond, and correspond to emails on behalf of the Managing

Director for multiple clients

• Manage and coordinate the Managing Director’s diary liaising with

other business administrators, customers, and suppliers through email

and telephone and messaging services

• Prioritise the incoming flow of time requests, appointments, and

reviews for the Managing Director

• Keep record of accounts for Spacetime Development and its clients

using Xero to ensure the books are kept up-to-date

• File documents both physically and electronically

• Prepare forms on behalf of the Managing Director for signature

• Manage signature workflow for documents on behalf of the Managing

Director

• Support other Spacetime Development staff and its clients with

administrative tasks from time-to-time

• Support various administrative tasks such as purchasing, time sheet &

HR record keeping, etc.

About You

• Interest in developing a business administration career with a keen

focus on enabling senior management to effectively manage their day-to-

day schedule and responsibilities

• Good organisational, time-management and planning skills with the

ability to multi-task, work under pressure and use own initiative

• Ability to exercise effective judgement, discretion, sensitivity,

creativity to changing needs and situations

• Enthusiastic, team player with the ability to work with cross organisational

teams and independently

• Self-motivated with a high energy level

• Committed, hardworking, and passionate

• High level oral and written communication skills with a strong

attention to detail - an amazing speller and grammar aficionado

• Ability to use Microsoft Office Products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel,
